Why Buy Local?

Get Exceptional Taste and Freshness

Local food is picked fresh and tastes great

Food imported from other locations are often picked prematurely

and forced to ripen during shipping

Fresher food is more nutritious

Protect the Environment

Fuel consumption is lowered when food is purchased locally

Air quality increases when fuel usage is reduced

Keeping local farms in business preserves open space and wildlife habitat

Strengthen the Local Economy

Buying directly from farmers gives the farm family more of the food dollars spent

Every dollar turns over many times in the community when farmers buy

supplies, equipment, and fuel

Local Farms mean more local jobs for local people
